Overcoming Aggression is Possible!
At Delaware Valley Dog Training, we believe that no dog is hopeless! We often work with dogs that have been turned away or written off as hopeless by previous trainers. Dogs that are on the verge of being given away—or even put down—by their owners because of their aggression. Please don’t give up on your dog without working with us first! We prove that change is possible every day!
Our trainer is confident in his ability to train aggressive dogs, including dogs who are human aggressive or have a history of biting.
We frequently work and succeed with dogs that exhibit:
- Dog aggression
- Human aggression
- Child aggression
- Territory aggression
- Barrier frustration
- Maternal aggression
- Food aggression
- Resource guarding
In order to successfully rehabilitate aggressive dogs, it’s important to not just “manage” the aggression but also to find the root cause of the behavior. Many trainers focus on symptoms of aggression, such as biting or growling, but fail to consider the underlying cause of the issue. This is what really sets our trainers apart from others and what helps us succeed where others have failed.
Most aggressive behavior is the result of past experiences, outside influences, and triggers, such as trauma or fear. The initial consultation is crucial because we evaluate your dog in its home environment and get a comprehensive look at their behavior and any outside influences that could be triggering the aggression. After the consultation, we’ll share what factors we think might be behind the aggression and provide our recommendations for a training plan that will resolve it—once and for all! Because we treat your dog as a whole and don’t just seek to manage the symptoms of aggressive behavior, the training plan will also include basic obedience as needed.
